Branch
Meetings at "The Packet Steamer"
Merseyside's
Branch Meetings are held regularly at The Packet
Steamer, Northern Perimeter Road, Liverpool 30,
in their Meeting Room. At the meeting held in
November, there was a grand turn out to hear
an interesting talk by Dr Belinda Cupid, a member
of the Research Team at Head Office. Our meetings
start at 8 pm, all are welcome to attend, and
tea and coffee is provided. Details of meetings
for 2005 are listed here on
the website.
Presentation
at Southport Meeting
The
Southport Support Group meet regularly at the Sandpipers
Winged Fellowship. A presentation was by Beth McCarfrae
aged 12, who had taken part in a 5km run. Beth, who
raised £110 for the Branch in memory of her
father Neil, presented the cheque to Branch members.
Beth visited the meeting with her Mum Anne. For more
information on the Southport Group, contact Sheila
Morley on 0151 924 0583 or Molly Wright on 01704
566438.
Runners
success for MND Merseyside
Derek
Jones, Publicity Officer, managed to enter a
number of teams for MND Merseyside at the Liverpool
Corporate Cup held on Sunday 12th September 2004.
The route around the city centre was 5 km long,
and all runners completed the course! As well
as raising awareness with their distinctive red
and white vests, they also
raised funds for the Branch. Derek has ambitions
to enter even more teams for the
Corporate Cup 2005! So, if you want to join in
(or know someone you could persuade to have a go)
give him a ring on 0151 489 4371. The teams are
