Tandem Skydive
Keith Ten-Pow (committee member who has MND) is
to do a tandem Skydive with his friend Az this
summer to raise money for the Branch. This will
take place in July in Oxfordshire.
Presentation to Stella Edwards
Stella
Edwards has been a volunteer at the Merseyside
Branch for 25 years, she is the founder member.
To celebrate the occasion, at the Branch Christmas
meeting, Trish Holmes from head Office presented
Stella with a topaz brooch on behalf or the Branch.
Stella (pictured on the right with Keith Ten-Pow)
has worked tirelessly for the branch, as treasurer
and committee member. She recently stepped down
as Treasurer, but continues as committee member.
Keith's Letter
Keith Ten-Pow recently received a letter from
Tony Blair, following Keith writing to him about
MND research. The letter discussed The Neurodegenerative
Diseases Research Network and it's funding. The
network will hopefully be funded for around 3 million
pounds.
Sefton Triathlon
The Merseyside branch of MND Association has been
nominated as one of the charities to benefit from
this year’s Sefton Triathlon. It is a 150
km swim, 5 km cycle and 2.5 km run. Volunteer marshals
are needed and we are keen to have to have as many
participants competing & fundraising for MND.
Anyone who would like to gain sponsorship for us
please contact Alun Owen on 0151 430 8805 for
more information.
