Walk
to D'Feet MND
Pictured
above are members and supporters of the Branch who
took part in the nationwide "Walk to D'Feet MND'
on the 19t' June at Sefton Park. The weather on
the day of the sponsored walk, which was two circuits
of the park, was not as wet as anticipated. All
participants managed to get around the circuit without
too many mishaps! Head Office predicts that a target
of £50,000 should be raised through sponsorship
from the 70 walks through out the country.
Happy 21st Birthday
The
Branch is 21 years old this year. It was started
in 1983 by Stella Edwards and her daughter Carol
McGowan, who are now chairperson and treasurer
of the Branch. The Branch is to hold a fundraising
Birthday Party on Friday 17th September at the
Police Club, Prescot Road, Fairfield. Tickets
will be £4 each. There will be live music, disco
and raffles. For tickets and further information,

Southport Support Meetings
People
with MND in the Sefton and Southport areas now
have regular monthly get-togethers. They are held
on the first Wednesday of the month, at Sandpipers,
Fairway, Southport PR9 OLA. The meetings start
at 2pm, and are proving to be successful. For

Goodbye
Gregg
Our
Volunteer Development Co-ordinator Gregg Beaman
is off to pastures new this summer. Gregg has
been a great support to the Branch over the eight
years he has been in post, and we will be sad
to see him go. He was extremely helpful and supportive
when the Branch was having problems some years
ago. We wish him lots of luck for the future.

Awareness
Stall in Liverpool
During
MND Awareness week in June this year, the Branch
held, what has now become its annual Fundraising
and Awareness Stall. On June 5th, the stall was
set up outside Littlewoods in Church St. There
were many visitors to the stall, and a sum of
£386.66 was raised. Pictured above, running the
Stall, are Derick Jones and granddaughters, Becky
and Lacey.
