Summer 2008
Charity Ball Raises £11,000!
The Merseyside Branch held a hugely successful
ball on May 10th - the first time we had arranged
such an activity. The idea came from the fact
that 2008 is Liverpool's Capital of Culture year
and we wanted to mark the occasion.
The event was held at
Aintree Racecourse and was attended by around
200 people who enjoying a champagne reception
and 3 course dinner. This was followed by entertainment
and a charity auction and raffle hosted by Sean
Styles.
The committee's worse fears went unfounded
and the evening was a great success with more
than £11,000 raised for the branch.
An amazing amount!
The photos below show the merry makers
on the night.
Church Street Collection
Our collection, held outside Primark in Church
Street, Liverpool, on Saturday 21st June 2008
raised £160
despite terrible rain.
